How to pause or cancel a WhatsApp campaign ​

Pause a WhatsApp campaign to stop processing temporarily, or cancel it to stop remaining sends. In AvenPing, open Broadcast → Campaigns, then use Pause Campaign, Resume Campaign, or Cancel Campaign on the row. There is no separate Retry row action.

Prerequisites ​

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open Campaigns
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. In the left sidebar, open Broadcast → Campaigns. Find the row by Campaign Name and Status.

  2. Pause a running or scheduled campaign
    For Status PENDING, SCHEDULED, or PROCESSING, open the row menu and click Pause Campaign. Confirm Pause campaign? — the dialog says processing will pause and you can resume later from actions. Click Pause. Status becomes PAUSED.

  3. Resume a paused campaign
    When Status is PAUSED, open the row menu and click Resume Campaign. AvenPing continues sending. There is no extra confirm step for resume.

  4. Cancel remaining sends
    For PENDING, SCHEDULED, PROCESSING, or PAUSED, click Cancel Campaign. Confirm Cancel campaign? — this stops remaining sends. You can delete the row later after billing is finalized. Click Cancel Campaign. Status becomes CANCELLED.

  5. Delete only after billing
    Delete Campaign appears for COMPLETED or CANCELLED rows after billing is applied. Confirm Delete campaign? then click Delete. This removes the campaign record and cannot be undone.

  6. Retry ecosystem failures at create time
    The Campaigns table has no Retry action. To retry certain Meta ecosystem errors on Marketing templates, enable Retry ecosystem failures on Schedule Campaign when you create the campaign. After send, check Ecosystem on View Analytics.

WARNING

Cancel Campaign stops remaining sends. It does not unsend messages already delivered.

TIP

Pause if you need a short stop and plan to continue. Cancel if you do not want any more sends on that campaign.

FAQ ​

Why do I not see Pause Campaign?

The action is hidden unless status is PENDING, SCHEDULED, or PROCESSING and you can create campaigns. COMPLETED and CANCELLED rows cannot be paused.

Can I retry a failed campaign from the table?

No. There is no Retry row action. Resume a PAUSED campaign with Resume Campaign. For Marketing ecosystem errors, turn on Retry ecosystem failures before you click Create Campaign.

What is the difference between Cancel and Delete?

Cancel Campaign stops remaining sends. Delete Campaign permanently removes the record after the campaign is COMPLETED or CANCELLED and billing has been applied.
