How to organize WhatsApp contacts with labels ​

Labels are colored tags you use to group WhatsApp contacts. In AvenPing, create them in Settings → Labels with Create Label, then assign them on Contacts (column, bulk Add Label, import, or Kanban view).

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open Label Management
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. Click Settings, then Labels. The page heading is Label Management. Empty lists show No labels found. Create your first label to get started.

  2. Create a label
    Enter Label Name. Pick a Color from the palette or Custom. Click Create Label. The preview shows Label Preview until you type a name. To change an existing label, click Edit label, update the name or color, then Save Changes. Cancel exits edit. Delete label removes it from Existing Labels.

  3. Assign labels on Contacts
    Open Contacts. In the Labels column, click the chips (or the empty —) to open the picker. Toggle labels on or off. You can also create one from the picker (New list, then Label name and Create). Toast: Labels updated.

  4. Apply labels in bulk, on create, or on import
    Select rows, open the overflow menu, and click Add Label or Remove Label. The panels are titled Add label and Remove label. When creating a contact, use Apply labels (optional) and Select labels. On import, use the same Apply labels (optional) step so every successful row gets the tags.

  5. Use Kanban view (optional)
    On Contacts, switch to Kanban view. Columns are All Contacts plus one column per label. Drag a card onto a label column to apply that label. Switch back with Table view.

TIP

Create the label in Settings → Labels first if you want a consistent color and name. Then assign it from Contacts, import, or campaigns that filter by Labels.

Where do I create labels versus assign them?

Create and edit names and colors in Settings → Labels (Create Label / Save Changes). Assign them on Contacts (column, bulk Add Label / Remove Label, Create Contact, or Import).

Can I label contacts during import?

Yes. After you upload a file, Apply labels (optional) applies Select labels to every successfully imported contact. See How to import WhatsApp contacts from a spreadsheet.

Does deleting a label delete contacts?

No. Delete label removes the tag. Contacts stay in the list. You can still message them from Messages.
