How to create a WhatsApp form

A WhatsApp form is a Meta WhatsApp Flow you send so contacts can fill fields in chat. In AvenPing, open Broadcast → Forms, click Create form, set Form name and Categories, add screens, click Run to save a Meta draft, then Publish. Status starts as DRAFT and becomes PUBLISHED after a successful publish.

Prerequisites

Step-by-step

  1. Open Forms
Sign in at app.avenping.com. In the left sidebar, open Broadcast → Forms. The page title is Forms. Optionally pick a WhatsApp line in the page line filter.

  2. Click Create form
Click Create form. The WhatsApp Flow builder opens. If you have more than one active line, set Phone number for the new form. Click Back to forms anytime to return to the table.

  3. Set Form name and Categories
In Screens, fill Form name * (placeholder: e.g. Customer feedback) and Categories *. Pick at least one: Sign up, Sign in, Appointment booking, Lead generation, Contact us, Customer support, Survey, or Other. Missing name shows Form name is required. Missing categories shows Select at least one category.

  4. Add screens and content
Click Add screen (or Add new after the first screen). Set Screen title (placeholder: Shown in WhatsApp header). Under Edit content, use Add content to add blocks: Text heading, Text subheading, Text body, Text caption, Image, Embedded link, Text input, Text area, Dropdown, Radio buttons, Checkbox group, Chips selector, Date picker, Calendar picker, Opt-in, Toggle (switch), Photo picker, Document picker. Set Footer button Label (default Continue). The last screen uses auto action complete; earlier screens navigate to next screen.

  5. Run, preview, then Publish
Click Run in Edit content to save the draft on Meta and load preview. Use Local or Meta under Preview. Publish stays disabled until a successful Run matches the current content. After publish, the table Status shows PUBLISHED. Edit in the row menu is available only while status is DRAFT. Preview opens Flow preview.

TIP

Fix red validation on screens and components before Run. Publish stays disabled until Run succeeds on the current draft.

WARNING

Local-only drafts cannot be published via Meta. Use Run to create a Meta draft first, then Publish.

FAQ

Why is Publish disabled?

You must click Run first so AvenPing can save a Meta draft and load the Meta preview. If you change content after Run, click Run again. The button tooltip says to use Run before publishing.

Can I edit a published form?

No. The Edit action is hidden unless Status is DRAFT. Use Preview, Responses, or Delete on published rows.

What statuses appear in the Forms table?

DRAFT, PUBLISHED, and DEPRECATED. The Validation column shows Valid or N error(s); click errors to open Form validation errors.
