How to mark a WhatsApp conversation as unread ​

After you open a chat, you can put it back in the unread pile. In AvenPing Messages, open the conversation header menu and click Mark as Unread. Use the Unread list filter to find it later.

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open Messages
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. Open Messages.

  2. Select the conversation
    Click the chat you want to return to later.

  3. Click Mark as Unread
    Open the conversation header actions menu. Click Mark as Unread.

  4. Leave the conversation
    Select another chat or close the thread so the unread state is visible in the list.

  5. Find it with Unread
    On the conversation list, use the Unread filter. See How to filter inbox conversations.

TIP

Use unread as a personal follow-up flag when you opened a chat but have not finished the reply.

WARNING

Opening the conversation again typically marks it read. Mark unread only after you are ready to leave the thread.

No. It only changes how the conversation appears in your inbox list.

Can agents mark unread?

Yes, if they can open the conversation. Team filters still apply.
