How to permanently delete a WhatsApp contact

Deleting a contact removes that person from your list and their associated chats. In AvenPing, open Contacts, choose Delete from the row menu (or Delete Contact (N) for a selection), then confirm. This action cannot be undone.

Prerequisites

Step-by-step

  1. Open Contacts
Sign in at app.avenping.com. Click Contacts. Find the row with Search contacts....

  2. Choose Delete
For one contact, open the row action menu and click Delete. For several, select the rows, then click Delete Contact (N) in the toolbar.

  3. Read the warning
The modal asks Are you sure you want to delete the contact name (or these contacts). The subtitle is This action cannot be undone. The red box repeats Warning: This action cannot be undone and states that all chat conversations and messages associated with the contact(s) will be permanently deleted.

  4. Confirm or cancel
Click Delete Contact (or Delete Contacts when more than one). While it runs, the button shows Deleting.... Click Cancel if you do not want to remove them.

  5. Verify the list
The row disappears from Contacts. If you only needed to stop outbound messages, use Block instead of delete. See How to block a WhatsApp contact without deleting.

WARNING

Deletion is permanent. Export first if you may need the numbers later. Blocking keeps the contact and history.

FAQ

Can I restore a deleted contact?

No. The modal states This action cannot be undone. Add the number again later with How to add a WhatsApp contact if you still have consent; chat history from the deleted record is gone.

Can I delete many contacts at once?

Yes. Select rows (or use select-all with filters), then click Delete Contact (N). Confirm with Delete Contacts.

How is delete different from block?

Delete removes the contact and associated chats. Block keeps the contact and shows Can't send message in the inbox until you Unblock. See How to block a WhatsApp contact without deleting.
