How to delete a WhatsApp chatbot

To remove a chatbot, open Automation → Chatbots, click the row menu, and choose Delete. There is no confirmation dialog. The chatbot stops matching incoming messages. Drafts show Draft deleted.

Prerequisites

Step-by-step

  1. Open Chatbots
Sign in at app.avenping.com. In the left sidebar, open Automation → Chatbots.

  2. Find the chatbot
If you have more than one line, use the platform filter. Use Search chatbots... or check the Name and Triggers columns. A Draft badge marks an unsaved draft.

  3. Open the row menu
Click the three-dot menu on the row. Options include Edit, Duplicate, Enable or Disable (not on drafts), and Delete.

  4. Click Delete
Choose Delete. The chatbot is removed immediately. There is no “Are you sure?” dialog. For a draft, the toast is Draft deleted.

  5. Confirm it is gone
The row leaves the table. Incoming messages no longer match that chatbot’s keywords or other triggers. If you still need the logic, build it again or use Duplicate before deleting.

WARNING

Deletion is permanent. Prefer Disable if you may turn the chatbot back on later. See How to enable or disable a WhatsApp chatbot.

TIP

Connect Chatbot steps that pointed at this chatbot will break after delete. Edit those chatbots first.

FAQ

Can I recover a deleted chatbot?

No. Export or screenshot the canvas if you need a record. Disable instead of delete when you might reuse it.

Can I delete several chatbots at once?

No. Delete one row at a time from the row menu.

Does delete stop in-progress conversations?

The chatbot is removed from the account list and no longer starts from new matching messages. Prefer Disable if you only want to pause matching.
