How to delete a WhatsApp message template
Delete a WhatsApp template when you no longer need it on that line. In AvenPing, open Broadcast → Templates, then use the row Delete action or select rows and click Delete Template. Deleted templates cannot be restored.
Prerequisites
- Permission to delete templates on this workspace.
- Know which line owns the template. See How to activate WhatsApp lines and set a primary line.
Step-by-step
Open Templates
Sign in at app.avenping.com. In the left sidebar, open Broadcast → Templates.Select the line
If you have more than one WhatsApp line, pick the line in the page line filter so the correct template list loads.Delete one template
Open the three-dot menu on the row and click Delete. AvenPing removes that template from the line. The table then shows Template(s) deleted successfully.Or delete several at once
Tick the checkboxes on the rows you want to remove. Click Delete Template in the table header (the label includes the selected count).Skip protected support templates
Templates named like call support alert or whatsapp support alert cannot be deleted. The Delete row action is disabled, and AvenPing shows This template cannot be deleted.
WARNING
Deletion is permanent. A scheduled or running campaign that still points at the deleted template cannot send that message.
TIP
If you only need a copy with different copy, create a new template instead of deleting the approved one first. See How to create a WhatsApp message template.
FAQ
Can I undo a deleted template?
No. After Delete or Delete Template, the template is gone from AvenPing and Meta for that line.
Can I delete multiple templates at once?
Yes. Select rows with the checkboxes, then click Delete Template. The header button shows how many rows are selected.
Why is Delete disabled on a row?
Support alert templates are protected. AvenPing blocks delete for those names so the support-alert flow keeps working.
