How to export a WhatsApp contact list ​

An export downloads your WhatsApp list for backup or analysis. In AvenPing, open Contacts, click Export, choose Export as CSV or Export as Excel, select columns in the Export contacts modal, then download.

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open Contacts
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. Click Contacts. Use Search contacts... or column filters if you only need some rows.

  2. Choose CSV or Excel
    Click Export. Pick Export as CSV or Export as Excel. If you selected rows first, the export uses that selection; otherwise it uses the current list (including filters).

  3. Review the Export contacts modal
    The title is Export contacts. The subtitle is Choose format and columns to include. The summary shows how many contacts will export and how many columns are selected.

  4. Pick columns
    Under Columns to export, check the fields you need. Defaults on: Name, Phone Number, Status, Created At. Off by default: Source, Last Checked Time, and each custom attribute. Use Select all or Deselect all.

  5. Download the file
    Click Export as CSV (N columns) or Export as Excel (N columns). The button stays disabled until at least one column is selected. Cancel closes without downloading. Store the file securely.

TIP

Export selected rows when you only need a segment. Apply filters first, then open Export, so the file matches what you see in Contacts.

FAQ ​

What formats can I download?

Export as CSV and Export as Excel. The modal footer repeats the format you chose, for example Export as CSV (4 columns).

Can I export only some contacts?

Yes. Select rows in the table, or apply filters, then click Export. The modal summary shows N contacts to export. With no selection, the current (filtered) list is exported.

Are attribute columns included?

Custom attributes appear under Columns to export but are unchecked by default. Select each attribute you need, or click Select all. See How to add custom fields to WhatsApp contacts.
