How to send a form from a WhatsApp chatbot ​

Drag Form from Message Blocks onto the canvas. In the sidebar set Select Form, optional Header Type (No Header or Text Header), body text, then Save. The form must already be published.

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open the chatbot
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. Open Automation → Chatbots. Edit a chatbot.

  2. Drag Form
    Open Components → Message Blocks. Drag Form onto the canvas and connect it.

  3. Select Form
    In the right sidebar, use Select Form (placeholder Select a form...). Helper text shows Will send: the form name.

  4. Set header and body
    Header Type: No Header or Text Header. If text, fill Header Text. Fill the form body message. Map form response fields to session variables if later nodes need answers.

  5. Save
    Click Save. Test with Test on Mobile.

TIP

Inbox paperclip → Forms is a one-off send. The Form node is for automated flows.

WARNING

Only published forms appear. Draft forms cannot be sent from the chatbot.

FAQ ​

Can the header be an image?

No. FormMessage only supports text header or none.
