How to add a WhatsApp contact ​

A WhatsApp contact is a person you message from your business line. In AvenPing, open Contacts, click Create Contact, fill Name and Phone Number, optionally add Attributes and labels, then click Create Contact.

Step-by-step ​

  1. Open Contacts
    Sign in at app.avenping.com. In the left sidebar, click Contacts.

  2. Open Create New Contact
    Click Create Contact. The modal title is Create New Contact. The subtitle is Add a new contact to your list.

  3. Enter Name and Phone Number
    Under Basic Information, fill Name * and Phone Number *. Use the country selector and enter the number in international (E.164) format. Empty name shows Name is required. An invalid number shows Please enter a valid phone number.

  4. Add Attributes (optional)
    In Attributes, click Add Attribute. Pick an existing attribute or Add new attribute, enter Value, and set Type to Text, Number, or Date when creating a new one. Remove a row with the trash icon (Remove attribute). If you hit the plan cap, the button reads Attribute Limit Reached.

  5. Apply labels (optional)
    Under Apply labels (optional), click Select labels to attach labels after the contact is created. Create labels first in Settings → Labels if the list is empty. See How to organize WhatsApp contacts with labels.

  6. Save the contact
    Click Create Contact. Use Cancel to close without saving. The new row appears in Contacts. To add many numbers at once, see How to import WhatsApp contacts from a spreadsheet.

TIP

WhatsApp delivery needs a valid international number. Prefer E.164 (+[country code][number]) so campaigns and inbox chats reach the same person.

FAQ ​

Is a phone number required?

Yes. Phone Number * is required. The form shows Phone number is required if it is empty, or Please enter a valid phone number if the value is not a WhatsApp-acceptable number.

Can I add attributes later?
